Ed Tabish, M.Ed.


Ed has 43 years of experience as an educator. He has won multiple awards both as a teacher and an instructional leader. He began his career as a Special Education Teacher in the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). There he taught students with mild to severe mental deficiencies, learning disabilities and emotional disabilities. He later became the Department Chairperson of the Special Education Department at Fairfax High School. He completed his career in FCPS as an Assistant Principal at McLean High School. He then spent 10 years at Youth For Tomorrow, a school for at-risk students with special needs as a Principal. In that position, he implemented a Standards Based Education (SBE) model. He did professional development work in the areas of standards-based planning, differentiation, and ongoing assessment. He also implemented a school-level academic review process for all staff.
